When I made the decision to transfer schools at the end of my freshman year, I knew I had to make a decision that aligned with my authentic values, interests, and academic ambitions. Amy and Suzanne truly helped me find and articulate those in my essays. I knew that the complex ideas guiding my decision would need a specific tone in my writing, and they understood that nuance. I came from a competitive high school, so I put tons of pressure on myself to write perfect essays the first time or to find my voice without practice. Amy and Suzanne didn’t judge any of my writing. Instead, they asked questions about the points I wanted to get across and gently helped me find clarity in my writing.
